• Transit

If using transit to get directly to Dinkytown, your best solution is by bus. Lines serving Dinkytown are:

    Route 2 / Franklin Ave – Riverside Ave – UMN – 8th St SE

Route 3 / UMN – Como Ave – Energy Park Dr – Maryland Ave

    Route 6 / UMN – Hennepin – Xerxes – France – Southdale

The Green Line does not take you directly into Dinkytown, however, you can transfer to bus routes 2 and 3 (see above), at the West Bank Station. Be sure to catch either of these two buses on the Anderson Hall side of the Washington Avenue Bridge.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is coming to Dinkytown in 2025!

  • Biking

The Dinkytown Greenway opened in July 2013. The lighted-at-night Greenway runs below Dinkytown along old railroad tracks with a downtown-connecting pedestrian bridge (Bridge #9) and Bluff Street Park on one end and the Huntington Bank Stadium on the other. Via the Granary Corridor, it also connects with the U of M Transitway.

  • Parking

Meters are $2.00 per hour (2 hour limit), and are enforced daily, 8 am to 10 pm. Please be advised that Minneapolis traffic police enforce the meters strictly.

Want to avoid getting out of your car to pay for on-street parking? Rather than standing outside at the pay station, download and use the parking meter app. Visit MPLSParking.com for information on how to download and use the parking app.

Ramp parking is also available at the 4th Street Parking Ramp, located on the corner of 4th Street SE and 17th Avenue SE. For details, including rates, please visit their website.
